Please join us in supporting our community by promoting and enhancing music knowledge and appreciation. Through the hard work of the committees and board of directors, Friends of Music has generously provided many benefits to the local community members including;

Bringing six to eight concerts per year of world renowned classical musicians that would not otherwise be accessible to the Brookings area.

Offering a Scholarship program that distributes $4,500 annually to gifted young musicians to help further their musical careers.

Providing an outreach program to local students via personal meetings with the concert performers. This rare chance to meet and learn from world class musicians is an experience many students would not otherwise have.

Donating to local schools' music programs. We have donated violins to the middle school.

Donating to summer music camps for students.

Donating to local music festivals.

Donating to, promoting and participating in KCIW community public radio, podcasts and programs.

FREE concert admission to all students under the age of 18.

Future development of a dedicated concert hall that will bring additional tourism dollars to the community.

Future expansion of the genre of music performances and other performing arts events.
We believe everyone should have the opportunity to see and hear world class music at very affordable prices and WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT. We work hard to keep ticket prices low, however ticket revenues do not cover the costs of bringing these amazing concerts to the area.
